Note: SFTAH transferred this from old data base when site was updated, thus date and name lost, all dates 2006 & 2007 changed during changeover to odd dates. It took me years and years to get my 12 year old son diagnosed with Aspergers..... Where is the help now we have it.Ive tried CAFS... who just offer a parenting courseI desperately needs support when things happen at home and how to deal with my sons condition.... i dont know if i am dealing with him in the right or wrong way...The school have excluded him most days over the last 18months, because of his behaviour. They just dont understand Aspergers.... HelpIs there a 24 helpline i can ring.... or do i just spend most nights feeling alone and a bad parent......

Hi Jo, I believe Jayne gave you some details in a previous post with regard to the help that her team can provide. Are you Northants ‘based’ or in a different part of the country? It may be worth giving Carol a call at the Autism Independent office as she may be able to point you in the direction of any support that may be available. She’ll be in the office from about 09:30 – 12:00 tomorrow, outside those hours there is an answerphone service and if you leave a message she’ll call you back. (not 24 hour I’m afraid, or I wouldn’t get any dinner!!!) Dave.
