My daughter is 13 now (severe Autism) she hasnt slept a full night in her life ,just last night she was awake from 1am and still awake when it was time to go to school, as for Medication we are using a bit of melatonin for a while it helps her settle well ,it doesnt last the whole night ,unfortunately we have tried it before it worked for about a month then it had the reverse effect ,but we gave her a brake from it and we trying it again now

many children and adults with ASD have sleep issues, many have low melatonin levels melatonin is naturally produced within the pineal gland, a glandular organ nestled between the cerebral hemispheres, It tells our body its time to sleep, because levels are low in people with ASD our bodies do not get the message to sleep.melatonin medication can be prescribed in tablet or liquid form from your GPhttp://autismandaspergersinthefamily.freeforums.org/autism-sleep-and-melatonin-t1022.html
