My name is Bernard and I am the Information Manager for Research Autism, a UK charity dedicated to research into interventions in autism.
We commission, carry out and support high quality, independent research into new and existing health, education, social and other interventions.
Our website provides information about who we are and what we do but, more importantly, it also contains information about a wide range of interventions used to help people with autistic spectrum disorders.
The information about each intervention is based on an objective analysis of any scientific research trials which have taken place into that intervention. You can find the site at http://www.researchautism.net
This kind of information is relatively easy to find. Its much harder to find personal accounts of what it is like to follow a particular intervention, to understand the actual pros and the cons on the ground. For example, how much it cost, how long it took and whether it made any difference.
With this in mind, we would like to ask for your help.
We would like to hear from you if you have followed an intervention for an autistic spectrum disorder.
We would like to know what was positive about it, what was negative about it and what your overall opinion of it was.
This way, we will be able to provide a much more complete picture of each intervention.
If you have time, we would also like to hear your personal accounts of what it is like to live with an autistic spectrum disorder.
I look forward to hearing your views.
With very many thanks
Bernard
