For years, we have all watched as autism-spectrum diagnoses have skyrocketed. In turn, autism awareness has grown exponentially as well. Now, building on the efforts of all who have worked hard for this noble cause, this summer will mark a milestone in the efforts for autism awareness. Coming August 2012, you will see the launch of the first worldwide autism-based television network: The Autism Channel. This streaming service will be available via the Internet, as well as streaming set-top boxes, such as Roku. As we continue to build our relationships with additional hardware manufacturers, you will also be able to watch Autism Channel programming on your Blu-Ray players, video game consoles, and “smart TV” sets. The channel will cover all aspects of autism and life on the autism spectrum, featuring not only experts and researchers, but real people with stories to tell and experiences to share. Since The Autism Channel will be advertiser-supported, the service will be free to anyone with an internet connection: no subscriptions, surcharges, or on-demand fees necessary. For nearly thirteen months, The Autism Channel has been developing a wide array of programming for its August launch, but with the breadth and scope of the autism spectrum, we are always looking for more participants to involve in our programs. Our studios are located in West Palm Beach, Florida, but if you cannot join us live in studio, we will be happy to conduct interviews via Skype. If you are interested in appearing on or becoming involved in The Autism Channel, email us at info@theautismchannel.tv. You can learn more about The Autism Channel by visiting http://www.theautismchannel.tv, where you may also sign up for our free newsletter to stay up to date with our ongoing efforts. Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to bringing your stories to the world. The Autism Channel
