Note: SFTAH transferred this from old data base when site was updated, thus date and name lost, all dates 2006 & 2007 changed during changeover to odd dates.Hello everyone, my name is Jo i have a 12 year old son who diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome early this year. It has taken me 12 years to get someone to recognise that he is "Different" and stop blaming me on my parenting skills.Having terrible trouble with his school as they do not understand his condition, They are in the process or getting a statment, this has been going on since Sept of last year. Teachers are still shouting at him and pulling on him which makes him swear, then he gets excluded. They have called him pathetic, stupid and arsy. On tuesday my son tried to jump out of the car while i was driving 50mph. Im scared of what he will do to himself. Why is it that the school are not trained to know how to deal with Aspergers, and why is he treated in a way that is clearly not helping him. I live a long way away from my family who dont really understand, and am desperate to talk to others who like myself find everyday difficult.Sorry to go on and on...
