Hello to Everyone, My son was diagnosed with Autism when he was in Nursary. We were refered to St Davids Hospital in Cardiff for assessment. I was absoutely disgusted with what I was told by the doctor there. I was told my son would have no friends and would probably kill himself!?!?!?! I was actually told this by the doctor. My husband and I couldn't believe it! she was basically saying he was a lost cause. I was stunned. How could a trained so-called professional say such a thing. I cried for hours at home. How dare she!..... In fact my son has come on in leaps and bounds, he does have one or two friends as he's just transfered to secondary school and everyone that knew him in his old school and loved him, He had tons of friends. My point is that no matter what people tell you sometimes, even trained professionals can be WRONG!

blimey I hope you reported the doctor involved, that was completely unprofessional & extremely inaccurate. I'm new not only to here but also to autism in general but even I know that that is so far from the truth. I am glad you have managed to prove the docotr wrong & hope it helps give hope to other peopleHugsHelen
