Note: SFTAH transferred this from old data base when site was updated, thus date and name lost, all dates 2006 & 2007 changed during changeover to odd dates.Happy New Year to All! Today is the start of the New Years list and on the top is to find a new ABA therapist for our 4 y/o son with PDD-NOS (high functioning) who is sweet, adorable and LOVES to learn! We are open to the following ideas/situations...perhaps something is of interest to you or someone you know with a background in special education/aba experience and/or training and loves to work with families and is looking for the right situation ("fit"). We are also open and flexible to suggestions of others that will enable this to happen for our son. Currently, our most recent and local therapist is about to return to school thus our search in earnest! Additionally, I should mention that I have posted ads previously at schools/universities(that teach special education/ABA throughout VA, MD & DC for the last 2 years with absolutely no luck! 1) Our "ideal" situation would be: Someone (student/teacher/professional with spcl ed background and ABA experience and/or certification who is from the US or abroad but must speak excellent english) who wants to work 9-12 hours (after school/Sat's) through the end of the school year and then additional hours in the summer which will be dependent upon the results of our request for ESY and/or summer school. Then in the fall when school begins again, it would reduce back to 9-12 per week. The number of hours is certainly negotiable! 2) Another option: A expansion of #1 with a live in situation. We have a private room/shared bath/board that we can offer in exchange for services and/or small salary. The focus would be providing intensive services to our son and helping out as a nanny/extra pair of hands during the summer. This would be an excellent situation for someone needing to add more work experience for their schooling credit(s) as well as enjoying the sights of the area for the summer. 3) You have an option that you would like for us to consider! Please email us a resume along with your contact information, education, verifiable references with contact email and/or phone numbers and the situation you desire/propose to Trvlwizard@aol.com. Please put "ABA Therapist" in the subject line to avoid it from going into the spam can! Feel free to pass this email or repost elsewhere. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and best wishes in the New Year!!!
