To whom it may concern,I have recently started ABA with a young 4 year old boy who is on the ASD specturm and throughly enjoy it. We have quickly quilt up a great relationship and I have picked up the theory and practical side of ABA quickly. I also currently work with adults with disabilities and the elderly. I thoroughly enjoy caring for people and have formed great relationships with my clients. I am a bubbly individual who is friendly, patient and sensible. My passion is to work with children as a Clinical Psychologist. After finishing my BSc Psychology degree at the University of Hertfordshire in 2011 and achieving a first class honours, I am taking a year gap from education before studying my phD in order to gain more experience working with children and children with additional needs. I am extremely enthusiastic and willing to learn about the medical, emotional and physical needs of children with a range of abilities and disabilities. I have always had a passion for inspiring and helping children/young people to achieve their goals and live a positive life. Whilst in secondary school (Francis Bacon School) I did a Community Sports Leadership and Sports Leadership Level 1 Award which allowed me to teach activities such as Aerobics, badminton tournaments and aid in the running of sports days which I thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst studying my A levels I choreographed school productions and competitions with years 7-11, such as the Global Rock Challenge which is run by the Hertfordshire police and aims to promote anti-drug and violence to young people and I was also awarded Global Rock Challenge Student Leadership Award in for my efforts and commitment to the choreography. My passion for dance followed through to my university studies in which I taught street dance to year 7-9 students who have low self-esteem as part of my final year dissertation which was supervised by Dr Lovatt who runs a very successful Psychology of Performing Arts School in the University of Hertfordshire . During my university studies I participated in a placement during the summer of 2010 working as a Student Support Worker for the YMCA’s Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s Trust is a twelve week programme run to give youth offenders and young people with a high risk of offending qualifications and skills to return to education or employment. Whilst on the Prince’s Trust team as a Psychology student I worked closely with student who fell on the ASD spectrum, had behavioural problems, were self-harming, suffered depression, and were diagnosed mild psychosis. I also assisted with a primary school trip to an ice skating rink in London, being that I figure skate I was the key teaching assistant whilst children were on the ice and although it was hard work keeping the children on their feet I thoroughly enjoyed it.Thank-youIf you would like me to forward you my CV please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.Roxanne Dickson
