ABA Tutor Finder are searching on behalf of a family in the Crawley area (post code RH10) for a tutor to work with their son who was diagnosed at 2 years old and has been doing ABA now for 2 years. The child although initially diagnosed with quite severe autism is now in a mainstream school with minimal behaviour, no stims and extremely sociable and on the higher end of the spectrum. He is still working hard on his speech, food and play skills but has made enormous gains. The family are flexible but ideally need to fill 5 days a week- 4 hours per day. This would be split between morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions 8.45am - 12.45am would be spent at a local school in Crawley working as 1:1 ABA therapist helping him to bridge the gap between himself and his peers. An afternoon session 2pm-6pm would be working at home in his therapy room working on areas identified at school. There are 2 other therapists currently working with him and a consultant who oversees the programme and trains the whole team monthly .We require a confident and extremely bubbly personality who doesn't mind mucking in and jumping into a child's world of play. The family have met many therapists that have lots of qualifications but lack the enthusiasm. Experience is essential as is the ability to take on constructive feedback and implement into the programme. Working at school as well as at home and out and about the family require someone who can think outside the box and quickly identify a golden moment for the child to learn something new or generalise a skill in a new environment. Rate of pay is negotiable and based on experience please get in touch with davidhinman@abatutorfinder.com ASAP if this excellent job opportunity is of interest to you.
