I am writing to inform parents about our charity Dal Dy Dir http://www.accessiblebreakswales.co.uk which supports families with autism and aspergers.
Dal Dy Dir is a charitable organisation working with individuals with autism and their families. Using our rurally based four acre site in Kerry, Dal Dy Dir is able to offer respite breaks and day services in addition to emergency respite placements. We have a philosophy of working with both individuals and their families using an inclusive family approach to ensure the most positive outcome possible for the long term. All experienced professionals, our team are carefully selected for their dedication to both the charity and its clients. Dal Dy Dir combines expert support, relaxing natural environments and rewarding experiences to provide an exceptional service. The experience is individually tailored to directly impact the areas where the families feel they need support. Through daily activities, an individual development plan and ongoing support and encouragement, our supported breaks make a massive difference to challenges that the families are facing. We work hard to enable families to spend time together as a whole and provide support to improve relationships and provide opportunities to bond as a family.
We entered into a partnership with The Forest Country Cottages on 1st January 2019 after a successful trial over the summer. The Forest is a beautiful four acre holiday complex, nestled in a magnificent valley on the outskirts of Kerry which offers Dal Dy Dir the scope it needs to set up a programme of tailored therapeutic breaks. With a wide range of activities, their animal therapy sessions featuring tame goats, sheep and chickens, and their forest school and music workshops gives the whole family a chance to learn new skills in a supported warm and safe environment. Everyone needs a holiday and Dal Dy Dir’s innovative programmes bring families together, create memories and support siblings and the whole family in a settled relaxing non-judgemental atmosphere.
We are having an open day on 18th April 2019 so why not come along or visit our website http://www.accessiblebreakswales.co.uk
We hope this will be of interest
