Hi I do understand how you feel. My son Glen who is now 15 was diagnosed at 7 with severe autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties. It is not an easy time. You do need the statement though, once that is finalised then at least you should get more help. However, I have struggled with the Education authorities for the all of Glen's School life. I do not feel Glen has progressed in the way that I thought he would. When I managed to get Glen into a Special School and specialised in Autism when Glen was 7 I really had a lot of hope that Glen would be helped and he would progress. This hasn't been the case, I only wish now that I had changed Schools 2 or 3 years ago when I had the chance. Anyway, I hope you have better luck than I have had, do keep onto the School, if you are not happy then make them aware of it, let me know how things go for you. Jeanne
