AnonymousHi Illy. I would suggest that you ask your GP to refer you to Doctor Richer at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. It can take a long time to get an appointment but it is well worth it. Our eldest son, who is ‘high functioning autistic’, saw lots of paediatricians in our area (also Kettering) and we were told that they did not feel he was autistic. However, we ‘gatecrashed’ an appointment with Doctor Richer for our younger, lower functioning, son and asked him what he thought of our eldest. When he confirmed our thoughts, we asked him if he would mind writing us a letter to that effect, which he happily did. His diagnosis was then confirmed locally and ‘opened a lot of doors’ for us. As before, if you would like further information, please don’t hessitate to contact me at the office. We have an appointment with a paediatrician tomorrow but I will be there Friday morning. Carol.
